Who we support

Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG)

Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a rare, aggressive brain tumor that primarily affects children ages 5 to 10, making up 10–15% of all pediatric brain tumors. This challenging condition starts in the pons—a key part of the brainstem that helps control breathing and heart rate—which makes it impossible to remove through surgery and limits treatment options. Radiation therapy can help ease symptoms for a few months, while new research and clinical trials are working hard to find better answers.
